 LOMO ASTELE 60 Zm spotting scope Blue, LOMO A1225 - Versatility describes the ASTELE™ 60 and 60 Zm Maksutov spotting scopes. Whether you are looking at a black-capped chickadee, a Humpbacked whale, the moon, or your target at a shooting range, the ASTELE™ 60 will provide you with razor-sharp images.
With ASTELE™ 60 Zm zoomed to its maximum power, a bald eagle feeding its young 1,200 feet distant will appear only 10 feet from the viewer! We designed ASTELE™ 60 Zm as a compact, multipurpose, very portable, terrestrial telescope. Although built for viewing objects on the planet Earth, you can easily see the moons of Jupiter. Craters and mountain ranges on our moon are clearly visible, even at the 40x minimum magnification. If astronomical viewing is your preference, and your aim is brilliant, high-resolution images of outer planets and deep space objects, we recommend larger diameter ASTELE™ telescopes, such as the ASTELE™ 95, 102MN, 133.5 or one of our two 150's.
An internal, multi-coated prism provides a fully erect image - not the upside-down images that are characteristic of so many telescopes which are designed more like astronomical instruments. Because there are no detachable image erectors, the entire unit is extra-secure for use in the field. We also calculated the A9771 40x - 120x zoom eyepiece so you have no need to purchase other oculars.
ASTELE™ 60 Zm combines comfortable viewing with rugged construction, thanks to the inclined, permanently affixed, eyepiece tube. The ¼" x 20 standard tripod screw receptacle will fit virtually any camera tripod, or you may select one of the sturdy ASTELE™ tripods listed in ACCESSORIES.
ASTELE™ 60 is identical to the ASTELE 60 Zm except it brings objects exactly 47x nearer than the unaided eye with its included A9780 25mm Plossl prime focal length eyepiece. Industry-standard 1¼" (31.7mm) eyepieces are interchangeable for use with many other instruments and are available in several focal lengths.
